"View Through" SOLD
At our relatively new Studio 6 Gallery, I've developed a routine of bringing fresh flowers to liven up the space. It started with our studio grand opening event we put on last fall, and I decided it made the studio so alive and cheerful. We're always arranging artwork in and out of frames, sometimes leaned against the wall on one of our antique cabinets where a vase sits. I was captivated and inspired to paint this interior that captured the transparent flower vase. Behind the vase, leaned on the wall is a plein air painting I had done of Denyse as she painted in front of me down in historic Barrio Viejo, Tucson. The simplified still life background details her figure, along with a little green brush stroke connoting the green art bag she carried everywhere back then. (I have a half dozen plein air paintings from that period that feature Denyse painting in different locations. We jokingly refer to it as "the green bag series")
